History

Discovered in 1967, its birthplace, Tanzania, inspired the gemstone name that is well-known today. Composition
Tanzanite is the blue variety of the gemstone zoisite. It is composed of calcium aluminum silicate. Compared to other gemstones, it is not particularly hard, thus it must be worn carefully.
Caring For Your Tanzanite Jewelry
Like all natural gemstones, Tanzanite can be damaged if not cared for properly. Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth, drying after washing. Avoid scratches by storing separate from other jewelry. Avoid exposure to oils, perfumes, and chemicals that may affect the stone’s vivid color.
